Star studded lineup, not a single moment of boredom. Indecision though, I wanted to see everyone and sit through their whole set but I had to go and see a bit of everyone's set. Would you blame me?????? Really????

18th Annual Cape Town International Jazz Festival Masterclass and Music Business panel discussion update.

Andra Day my goodness, she’s beautiful, she's talented and one of the most humble people I have ever met. In her masterclass we learnt more about song writing. The one thing that I took from what she said is that you have to stay true to who you are, and your experiences. Why don’t I let her tell you

The Music Business Panel discussion was facilitated by Andre Swartz and the guests were Nat Adderley Jr (USA) he , Darren English (SA/USA), Bev Scott-Brown (SA) and Shado Twala (SA). They also mentioned that you need to stay true to who you are if you want to succeed. Shado Twala said that artists need to see themselves as a brand, as a business. She said that they shouldn't just concentrate on their talent but should also have some business acumen. 

Nat Adderley Jr who worked as music director for Luther Vandross' tours and contributed as co-songwriter on most of Vandross' albums agreed with Twala. He added that you had to have good musical sense and a great personality. I learnt a lot about the music industry as a whole, so if you are thinking of entering the music business be sure to attend the Cape Town International Jazz Festival training and development events next year they are very insightful. 

18th Annual Cape Town International Jazz Festival Free Concert.

As a way of saying thank you, the wonderful organisers of the jazz festival throw a free concert so jazz lovers that are in Cape Town can have a taste of world-class performances from some of the jazz greats free of charge. I got there at 17:01 and the place was already packed there were around 13 000 people gathered. Young and old people gathered to witness this beautiful magic

Mango groove doing their thing. They really know how to get the crowd going 30 000 people were booging on down, space wasn’t an issue at all. The last performers of the night En Vogue. They really weren't joking when they said world-class. Tomorrow I will tell you all about the Andra Day Masterclass and the Music Business panel discussion.

Hello there, so let me start by answering that burning question I know you have, yes I am going to be writing about the jazz festival like a mad person. Better believe it, so today we are talking masterclasses. I've asked myself this question a million times, "what did I do to deserve an opportunity to be in the same room with people like Gretchen Parlato (USA), Andra Day (USA), The Internet (USA) & Jazz Funk Soul (USA) just to mention a few. I'll tell you what, it's all thanks to the fact that I'm here in Cape Town, that's it. Guess what everyone who is in Cape Town has the very same opportunity. It's that time of the year again, yes you guessed it the jazz festival is just around the corner. I can hardly contain my excitement. I'm particularly excited because I am going to be attending the training and development events. Check out the official cape town jazz festival page for more details. Looking forward to the masterclasses, imagine hearing from the artists themselves about the things that happen behind the scenes. Color me excited I can't wait to ear and learn from one of my favourites Andra Day. Oh and did I mention that there's a free concert as well on the 29th. The concert and masterclasses are all absolutely free you have no reason to miss them. See you there

The ugly truth

The fact that Gerard Butler was in the movie just made want to watch it I fell in love with the man first time I saw him.

The movie is an absolute must see it is so great you will laugh from the time you start watching right up to the very end. I especially loved the dinner scene and for those of you who don't konw what I am talking about watch the movie.

It helps woman to see what man are all about you could learn a thing or two from it. It relly is a great movie
